Propensity to Self-Subversion: Definition of Terms

Subversion is derived from the Latin word “subvertere” which means to “to overthrow” or to “turn from under.” It brings to mind the image of “turning a rock” over, which is a negative image. Subverting is also considered a negative action, something that is to be avoided, connoting a disruption of the status quo.
But considering the definition itself, subversion need not be a bad thing. Challenging the status quo has always been discouraged by the authorities (in a political arena) because it usually means they have to justify their actions and reveal their intentions, and most of the time that is not a very good idea from their point of view.  In effect, subverting something can lead to destruction and chaos. The propensity to self-subversion may very well do this, but again that is not necessarily a bad thing.
Self-subversion can also be taken as in the negative. By definition, it means to turn from under the self, the consciousness, the being. In essence, you are questioning what you are, your intentions, your goals and your aims. It questions your life as a whole. When does this usually happen?

Propensity means a preference or attraction for a certain activity, or object or situation. The human propensity to self-subversion is usually a sort of psychological end-of-days.  People usually start to question their lives when tragedy strikes such as a death or accident, or circumstances forces themselves to take account such as losing a job or a loved one to another person. It never occurs when people are happy or complacent, when events favor their existence and way of life. Bad news travels fast and tragic events trigger self-evaluation faster than the wink of an eye. When self-examination occurs in these instances, chances are what you see you do not like. But such intensive examination of life should occur not only when things come to a head. It should happen in anticipation of such events. Self-subversion should be cultivated at each opportunity.

The logic in this is contained in one phrase: a well-examined life is a life well lived. Accepting the way one’s life is without questioning the why, how, when, where and what is life accepting that one has no free will. It is to accept a person can only move in a certain way as dictated by society and no further and no other way. It is to acquiesce to the status quo. The problem is the status quo should be of a person’s own making. Otherwise there would be no point in living a life not your own.
Self-subversion can occur at any point in a person’s life, but preferably, when one is in a balanced state of mind. In this way, the mind is clear and uncluttered from emotional or physical stress. There are several ways this can be done.

Take notes. Noting down the pros and cons of one’s life may seem strange, but that is the only way a person can clearly see where he had been, where he is and where he is going. It is the only way a person can take control. Concede that perhaps there are some things that can be changed which have been maintained because of laziness or a fear of change itself. This could be as simple as the sort of haircut you have. Perhaps it is a cut you have had since you were ten and you have gotten used to it although you do not like the way it tickles your forehead. Resolve to change the things that can be changed. Try something new with the hair. Do it gradually until you are more comfortable with the new look. Soon it will be easier to make similar changes on different levels. These may seem simplistic notions but changing the status quo often starts with the first step. Consider this the first step to developing a well-examined life. The competence we discover through propensity to self-subversion is worth the effort we put into self-development.

Looking Out for Number One in Propensity to Self-Subversion

Your friend just bought the house of his dreams. Your wife keeps talking about her friend who got the job she has always wanted.  It often seems like everyone else has no problem getting what he or she wants, when that person wants it.
Everyone has a tendency to get a case of “Poor Me” syndrome.  We look at everyone around us and see all of the success and material gain. Then the mind starts to wonder why them and not me. It is this tendency to expend your energy focusing on others that diverts us from creating our own success.
Instead of wasting your time envying the achievements of others, take time to look at yourself and recognize the potential you have for greatness.  Consider what you need to change in your life to help bring about the kind of success that you desire.  Use your energy to help you achieve your goals of financial, personal and material greatness.
We cannot constantly compare our growth and learning to that of others.  We are each of us unique individuals that can only measure our growth based on ourselves.  We need to learn to develop ourselves into a whole unit of being, as opposed to become one part of the whole. This process of development involves strengthening our mind, body, spirit and voice in order to effect changes ourselves and the world around us.
An important step in development is strengthening us mentally and emotionally.  We use the conscious and subconscious mind to do this.
We need to look into ourselves to see who and how we truly are at this point in time.  Take time to look into your subconscious mind through meditation and other focusing methods that allow you to explore your past experiences and lessons.  When we look into our pasts, it allows us to discover deep-seated truths about ourselves and how we came to be the way we are now.
Once we begin to focus on these hidden self-truths, we are able to discover those things, which are missing from our lives. We can start to strengthen mentally, spiritually and emotionally as we take the steps to fill these voids.  We can begin to put aside our reliance on others and start to support ourselves in our own goals.
We can enforce this sense of self by developing our voice as well.  This means taking a stand for those things that you wish to see changed in the world around you.  Express your views to those in power and take ownership of your beliefs.  Use your voice to put into motion an environment of change.
We need to learn to break the cycle of influential learning.  This type of learning has been popular due to the group mentality of it. Influential learning is a process that allows you to be blindly directed by others and form no real belief of our own.  Following the path that has worked for others is often a misstep on our part and clouds our ability to seek out our own truths. Set out to discover truths and beliefs that ring true to you and no one else.  Do not rely on others to set your foundation for you.
By challenging common beliefs, we are able further to open ourselves to think new thoughts and areas of growth that may not have occurred to us before.  We are able to take the reigns and become leaders instead of followers. We are able to challenge propensity to self-subversion and come out stronger than ever.

We as individuals are the only one that can create our success. We are the ones that hold the key to transform ourselves strong individual with a sense of purpose and power. Empower yourself with the knowledge that you, no one else, are the master of your success. The definition and terms of propensity to self-subversion we must consider.

Propensity to Self-Subversion in Inner Peace Discovery

We are faced with the challenge of finding our own inner peace. In a highly changing world that is driven on greed, money and power, we must discover our own state of mind. We must seek our own inner peace without relying on technology and scientific resolves. To find your own peace of mind, you must learn to rely on self.

To achieve a greater plane of serenity, one must learn what is right for him. We need to develop mental, body, emotions and spiritual states however. To achieve emotional competency we must find a quiet mind and learn to use self-talk tools as well. We must learn to discover our joy, anger, sadness, resentments, etc and do something about it. Rather than allowing these emotional states take control, we must reach our highest planes of development.

We may consider several options in propensity to self-subversion. Some of the things we can consider that will guide us to self-subversion or self-development are prayer, soul searching, or exploration of our own mind.

We want to develop our own individuality so that it can survive the rude awakenings in our short future. To find our inner serenity we must look to natural practices and remedies. Some of the natural practices we can consider include meditation, yoga, subliminal learning, etc.

Meditation and yoga has proven to help many people reach their inner peace by exploring the mind and finding guided relaxation. Yoga has many levels, so you want to discover the steps that assist you with developing. Some practices focus on contributing to bring the inner mind to releasing stress. Some others encourage calming the mind, gaining the highest plane of wisdom, and so on.

At the present, we are living in an atrophic and overpowering world. Currently, Iran is instigating a global war on Americans, thus forcing us to develop quickly, propensity to self-subversion abilities.

We must learn to act on inclinations with a level mind. Rather than acting on impulses that could cause us major problems, we must learn to think on our toes at any given time. Therefore, we must practices healthy actions that lead us to develop our mind, body and spirit to the peaks of our development.

By doing so, we can take control when abrupt actions force us to think quickly. We all must find our own method of self-subversion. We must learn to rely on self and not external influences. We see from past learning that we all have been lead into an atrophy environment, which is leading us nowhere. Thus, learning to rely on self can help you make wise decisions that encourage your own survival.

Survival is a state of mind. We must build endurance to achieve this level of mentality. When we build endurance, it inspires us to take action whether we are put on the spot or not. To build a state of endurance we must consider holistic practices, such as exercise, diet, yoga, meditation, and subliminal leaning.

Amazingly, in the writing business, you meet so many people who lack skills, qualities and many are misinformed. We must address these issues immediately, especially if we intend to survive an atrophy world.

The world is changing rapidly, thus now is the time to work toward propensity and self-subversion. We must learn to develop our mind, emotions, body, spirit and voice. To learn how to get started consider the complete steps in self-development.

Take some time to research the information available today so you become well versed and prepared for a future full of chaos unlike any man has ever known.  Start looking out for number one.

Self-Subversion to Propensity in Learning

Self-subversion is the ability to learn from experiences and events. This learning influences our way of life. When we try out new things for the first time, we are scared. For example, when you started to swim for the first time, were you not afraid of drowning? However, today, you are a good swimmer and this has been possible because you learnt to overcome your fear of drowning.
All of us learn from experiences. By analyzing our reactions to a particular incident, we can explore and discover new aspects of ourselves. You were able to overcome the fear of drowning when you learnt to swim. By digging deeper into how you actually went about it can help you to analyze the way you think and react. You can use the results of this analysis to overcome other fears that you have.

Numerous events happen around us all the time. Apart from experiences, we can learn from these events too. We get to know these events either by seeing it in person, or watching it in TV or reading it or from the internet. These events also have a profound impact in the way we think. We can analyze our views and reactions to each of these events and this may give us a different and unknown insight of ourselves. We have a propensity to learn from these events.
Social issues that affect us each day surround us. Some of the issues are poverty, racism, crime and abuse. These issues relate to us in more than one ways and this has an indelible effect on our behavior.

There are more negative than positive events happening today. With a lot of violence and sex happening around us, we tend to be influenced by these. However, we can avoid being influenced from negative happenings by consciously forcing ourselves to accept and follow only the positive aspects, and ourselves. If for example, you see a shooting on your way back home, you must not be influenced and resort to shooting the following day. You can consciously make an effort to learn something positive from it. This can be achieved by exploring the cause and effect of the shooter’s behavior and applying the same to ourselves. You should be able to reiterate to yourself that this is not right and it should be avoided

Many negative events are broadcast on the television. We can ensure that the influence of this is minimal on us. We can both analyze the cause-effect of a particular happening and strive consciously to make sure that we do not repeat it or we can avoid the entire happening by switching off the TV. Switching off the TV also requires a conscious effort.

In the process of evaluating our reactions to events, we are also minimizing the influence of the external world on our behavior. We intentionally learn and realize the ill effects of these happenings and move away from it.

The subliminal mind is slowly tuned to accept only positive influences and it rejects anything negative.  This is possible by gathering the bits and pieces of your experiences, fears and reactions from the mind and weaving them into a full picture.

When we learn and change, we also have a positive influence on others. We tend to encourage and help others to become better people.

In due course of time, if every one can learn to shut external negative influence on them, the world will become a better and more peaceful place to live. We can experience the bliss of ‘Heaven on Earth.’ We must learn to view our own inclinations, tendencies and partialities to move toward propensity to self-subversion. We must find our own inner serenity.

Time to Make that Change in Propensity to Self-Subversion

The neighbor down the road just bought a brand new vehicle. His wife got a new mink coat. I wonder why my friend always has the best of luck.

Caught up in a game of he-said, she-said, in a world of spectators, opinionates, and assumers, thus many people delve on the neighbor down the road or their friend’s success, wondering why they are not successful. Instead of focusing on YOU, often we ponder over other people’s success, which holds us back from our own success.

Instead of being caught up in a game, we must stand up, look at the person in the mirror, and make necessary changes that bring in our own success. Moving toward a world of political rule, we must find a ground to stand firmly on in order to survive the upcoming changes that are leading to high-cost, high-rise, high-mentality order.

We must base our measurements of growth on our own leaning, rather than dwell on what others think, feel, do, etc. Thus, we must find common ground with self, to promote developing one human being as a whole, rather than a part.

The development stages involve our voice, mind, body, spirit, etc. We must learn to speak out, rather than sit about waiting for something to happen, or to change.

As people, we have the power to take back our control by speaking out to world leaders. We must stand our ground, and speak up against the actions taking place against us. Living in a highly controlled environment, it takes us to make a change by speaking out and developing self, rather than worrying about others.

The development of mind involves our mental, emotional states, yet it extends to subdivisions, such as our subliminal and conscious mind.

How do we develop these states of being?
We must first examine ourselves as we are in the present time. Next, we must delve into our subliminal mind to explore our past learning and experiences. Once we begin meditation and contemplating, we can discover hidden truths about self, which we can use to expand our state of mind, spirit, body, etc.

By exploring self, we often discover what is missing. When we discover the missing elements that complete our body, mind and spirit, we can move to make changes that drive us to our own success. Instead of relying on others, or being caught up in the game of life, we emerge to a new level of understanding. This is what growing is all about.

Today, international issues are addressed, which include influential learning. We note that in religion many people follow the same beliefs as another. For instance, throughout our history humankind was lead to believe that when the body dies, it goes to heaven, hell, or in a middle purgatory, which these beliefs channeled from Catholic leaders. Despite the bible says otherwise, man has followed these beliefs for centuries. We note that influences are misguiding often, so we must reach out to seek our own understanding and set our own beliefs rather than follow another’s.

By doing so we develop a much deeper understanding and open the mind up to learn something new about what we already know. Thus, we explore our inner being to find truths, as well as to remove the lies told to us by leaders. Thus, we become a leader, rather than a follower when we venture to challenge propensity to self-subversion.

We all have the power within us to develop our own individuality without relying on others who just may misguide us. We must stand tall as self and work toward development and gaining our own success.

Examining our Movement and Changes in Propensity to Self-Subversion

Based on dimensions of innovative spatial learning we are moving toward a learning procedure, which is inspired by the minds of political thinkers. Politicians are effortlessly working to shove the latest learning strategies on to the typical so-called normal society.

International affairs are behind the propensity to self-subversion. Because of some issues that were presented in Italy and other foreign lands, new researchers are consider other aspects of self-subversion. Propensity in focus is the intensity natural preference and inclinations that occur repeatedly.

The people are now moving to subsist or mange to survive the world devoid of external support. In short, we are encouraged to move toward self-reliance.

Self-reliance is achieved by learning to confess to oneself, i.e. to admit without reservations our qualities, mistakes, and consider the way we behave. We must move toward self-development of mind, body and spirit.

We must take a venture into the social world to learn how to rely on self. In our surroundings, we face many social issues each day. Some of the common problems include poverty, substance abuse, social conditions, behavior problems, racism, and not to mention other world issues.

By examining these problems carefully, we may find that it relates to us in many ways. In fact, social and world issues relate to each one of us in a way that we may unknowingly behave in a way that it reflects on others.

Thus, we must consider social and world issues when we venture to complete a process of self-subversion. We must agree that social issues we face are based on cause and effect, sources and consequences of potential resolutions.

In fact, when sociologists venture to study society, this it calculates origin, developmental stages, structure of humans, behaviors, group interaction, etc.

We see that to make changes we must view all aspects of our living, which includes our social and world surroundings.

Some questions were posed during the study of society. The questions: “Do guns kill people? Do people kill people?”

First, guns do not have emotional or mental powers to make any sort of decision to abolish a human being. Rather a human being acts on emotional underdeveloped thoughts that force the person to kill.

When you think of this question, you may contemplate, but obviously, we see that humans kill, not guns. So you see that because emotional stimulates are behind the shooter, thus some influence has initiated this person’s thought to kill.

But, where does it start. It starts with every living being in the world. In my Criminal Justice courses great emphases was placed on media influences. On television, we see violence, immorality, and other immoral acts that we often permit into our lives. If every single one of us would stand up and shut off the television, or resources that promote violence, crime, sex, etc, thus these people would be forced to resort to other practices.

You may not think so, but if we had higher morals, standards, values, etc, thus we would live in a world with less crime, violence, wars, etc. Thus, when we move to self-reliance, we must move to stop or cease any behaviors, habits, thoughts, etc that leads to confusion, as we know it today.

At what time you consider social and world issues, think about the countless of criminals recorded in our history. Instead of thinking, he is bad, she is bad, or she/he should be hung, thus think about what lead to those behaviors. When you commence to look deeper into a subject, thus you find deeper meaning, which helps you to see that these criminals did not come into the world as bad people, thus some influence played a large part in what results lead to their arrest.

Of course, these people must accept their own responsibility, but what responsibility to we share with these people. Currently we are moving into spatial learning whereas we must relate space in which we occupy with happenings in our environment. It’s time to make a change.

How Propensity to Self-Subversion Occurs

We think of a world filled with parts of people in more ways than we can imagine. In short, so many people are short of self-development, thus making them a whole.
Because of these ongoing problems, scientists and technology is joining to create alternatives in self-development, thus consider each person as a whole. Propensity occurred because of twisted views in educational programs, in society, etc, which has lead to major problems. For instance, many women lack full development because of biases, which hindered them from developing voice, self, and mind completely. If you think of the women in the world, you would see that the average woman holds back from speaking her mind. The social issue emerges from racisms, etc, which needs immediate attention. It is time that women stood up and developed their mind, self and voice despite what anyone may think. By learning to speak out, women can make a far-more reaching point by addressing the issues we face worldwide. Obviously, man has set us back almost to the point we have no recourse, which brings propensity and self-subversion in mind. Some of the racist issues we face today are noted at public schools. When the instructors line girls in one row and boys in another row, what they are doing is promoting gender-segregation. These biases behaviors need to stop. It is now time for a positive change, which means countless of people need to grow up. To grow up however, these people must think of self as a whole and carry onward for the rest of their life building their self, including skills, human qualities and so on. We live in a world whereas so many people are desensitized. People were forced to become less sensitive, which caused many problems. Today we see immorality verses morality. We see low values and standards, which has caused serious decline of humanity as it was created. In other words, people lack humane qualities. We observe self-development as articulated discover down through our centuries as an effective state of growing. Seeing that the world is changing nevertheless, and learning from the countless of mistakes made by intellect, thus alternatives outlooks of self-development are given aforethought.
With prosperity, a person may consider tendencies, enslavements or inclinations of the heart, partial development also so forth as an impediment of self-development. It is commonly time for a change with the procedures required to develop a whole individual rather than a part. We must become versed to stand on our individual grounds also use our own self to complete our development processes.
We might look at inconsequential points or opinions that others have presented to us, yet we must learn to discover our individual way in developing as a whole human.
We must take often mind trips in self-growth, which involves subliminal learning. If you are not familiar with subliminal learning, visit the Internet to research the topic.
To guide one to discovering the honest direction for you, it is beyond compare to consider the changes occurring in your own life, as well as collective or communal issues we all confront. We must look at spatial alternates and dimensions, as well as how we become versed in an economically altering scene. By enjoying so, then one could perhaps remove emotional impediments that get in the way of self-development.

In our world, we are forced to respond to overwhelming changes repeatedly, thus being exposed to racisms, gender issues, poverty, wars, and other issues that are artificially included, thus it makes it difficult to re-cultivate self. We must look at self-reliance, self-talk, meditation, subliminal learning, practices in accelerated learning, and other self-development options to develop as a whole human being and not a part.

A Guide to Propensity to Self-Subversion

We look at self-subversion or self-development as pointed out down through our centuries as a process of growing. Because the world is changing however, and learning from the many mistakes made by man, thus other aspects of self-development are considered.

In prosperity, one might consider tendencies, inclinations of the heart, partial development and so on. This is because our trainers or leaders in the world have leaded the vast majority of people into developing only parts of their person. It is time for a change. We must learn to stand on our own and use our own self-reliance to complete our development processes.

We might look at some points or opinions that others have presented to us, but we must learn to find our own way in growing as a whole person and not a part. Yet, what we must do depends on our willpower, drive, and perspectives in how we relate to self-growth.

To help you discover the right direction for you, it is best to consider the changes taking place, as well as social issues we all face. We must look at spatial innovations and dimensions, as well as how we learn in an economically changing scene. By doing so, only then could we remove cognitive roadblocks that stand in our way of self-development.

Propensity to Self-Subversion: The Theory behind It

The work of political economist Albert Otto Hirschman entitled a propensity to self-subversion was published in 1995. It is a collection of essays, which advances the ideas of Hirschman with regard to theories of political economies. Hirschman was born in 1915 in Berlin and was witness to the persecution of artists and intellectuals in Nazi Germany, and helped in evacuating many of them.

Hirschman is a multi-talented man, spreading his influence in the US as a Rockefeller Fellow at The University of California in Berkeley, a Chief of the Federal Reserve Board in the Western European and British Commonwealth Section, economic advisor for the Colombian National Planning Board and private economic consultant in Bogotá. His academic appointments include Yale University, Columbia University and Harvard University. His literary accomplishments are also impressive, earning him many awards and distinctions for his economic treatises.

Hirschman basically decried political economic structure. He was not a Marxist, yet he had a deep distrust of the free market economy. He is known to be an institutionalist and stoutly opposes large-scale theories. Central to the idea of the book is this distrust and opposition of rigid theories of political economy. He does not follow any known path of argument and his conclusions often leaves his readers confounded, uncertain whether Hirschman succeeded in making his point or merely opened another portal for examination.

Some reviews refer to Hirschman as a man who delights in self-subversion. He frequently makes a statement and then qualifies it, as if inviting criticism of his own ideas and encouraging alternative arguments.

His unorthodox approach to economics has made him peculiarly adept at comprehending the economies of emerging economies, as recounted in his observations in work he did in Colombia, Bogotá, Brazil and other Latin American countries. Indeed, some of these countries have benefited from his advice, which would not apply to economies in developed countries.

This “thinking out of the box” has applications outside political economic theory. Sociological studies are often based on studies of populations and a general trend that predicts behavior. When theories of self-subversion as applied in political economic theory is applied, it may well give challenge the conclusions arrived at in sociological studies. When people think out of their societal framework, it is seems reasonable to predict that some interesting variations to social behavior may occur.

While these variations may differ or even contradict accepted generalizations, thinking beyond limits is the basis for many innovations that affect human lives, such as computers and the Internet. Even in art and the physical and natural sciences, whole movements began with a single person wandering into unchartered territory.

In human behavior, self-subversion is the catalyst that produces new ideas and new ways of thinking that has the potential to be life changing. For most people, this could be limited to the immediate person and the people that surround him, or it may have implications for whole communities or even societies. The inspiration that moved the Edison’s, Newton and Sartre’s of this world began with a willingness to subvert the accepted order and structure of the society in which they were born. The idea of subversion has negative connotations but this is the essence of change and development. Think about what a person would be like if he was open to thinking and acting beyond the boundaries of his society and upbringing. He could very well be the next Bill Gates or Tiger Woods, for words like “impossible” and “unthinkable” are not words to live by. Hirschman had the untrammeled vision of translating such behavior into models of economic theory. Perhaps the applications of such thinking should have no boundaries at all. The applications to human development takes us to review Wright’s beliefs.
