Propensity can be defined as an
individual’s particular tendency to emulate a certain type of behavior. This
means that an individual has several specific characteristics. For example, an
individual may always study a certain subject or an individual may always be
running late or an individual may be selfish or self-sacrificing. If an
individual is always late then that individual has a propensity for lateness.
The definition of self relates to the
physical and mental state of a being. This relates to the physical body and the
intellectual mind. There are several different levels and degrees of self. Many
experts believe that an individual should never stop developing the self. When
an individual believes in self-development that individual believes in a more
rewarding and truly successful life.
Subversion can be defined as an
activity that is designed to undermine government actions or a government
institution. This can be the physical act of overthrowing something or the act
of ruining something.
Many individuals have a propensity
for self-ruin or self-destruction. This is a very bad characteristic and one
that will hinder an individual greatly throughout their lifetime. An individual
may destroy themselves through negative thinking, alcohol abuse, substance
abuse or by becoming involved in an abusive relationship.
An individual who has a propensity
for self-subversion must learn to face their own self-destruction behavior and
to stop this self-destructive behavior before it even begins. Self-subversive
behavior can be a negative thought or a negative feeling or a negative action.
This is one way in which an individual destroys their present and future self.
Many individuals do not realize that
our destinies, our futures can be designed upon our specific plans. We have the
power to control our lives and what happens to us during our lifetime. An individual
must be willing to switch from the passenger seat to the drivers seat. This can
be a very scary process for some people. Some people are use to having someone
else tell them what to do or to following a negative chain of thoughts. These
negative behaviors must be broken and stopped in order to achieve the future
that you have always dreamed about.
An example of a self-destructive
behavior would be if every time an individual has a bad day or if an individual
is unhappy in life that individual a drink instead of dealing with the problem
head on has. The drink may make the individual feel better for only a limited
amount of time but then down the road the individual will be faced with many
health problems and the loss of money that was spent on alcohol. An individual
may even loss their job, family and loved ones. This is a self-destructive
behavior that must be stopped.
Instead of indulging in
self-destructive activities, it is important for an individual to deal with a
problem head on. An individual must learn how to control and shape their own
destinies in order to have a rich and satisfying life. The first step in losing
a propensity for self-subversion is to recognize and name the self-destruction
behavior.
Once the self-destructive behavior is
named, the individual can work towards overcoming this particular negative
behavior. Many times people who are trying to change negative behaviors find it
helpful to use a support group or mentor during this tough time. This is a
great way for an individual to change a negative behavior by leaning on other
caring people. It is very important that anyone who has a propensity towards
self-subversion to change their negative behavior. This leads to a happy and
productive life.
